Girl Crush: Lizzy Caplan

I recently watched Bachelorette. SO FUN! Kirsten, Lizzy and Isla just click so well together - I really enjoyed it!

But it also reminded me on how much i have a total girl crush on Lizzy Caplan. I first met her on the Party Down series (again, along side the cute Adam Scott!) before realizing she was in Mean Girls. Since then I've loaded all her movies to my Netflix queue.

She has this total badass but girl next door vibe going - never perfectly polished but still smoking hot. Here are some of my favorite looks* -

*finding sources to these was unsuccessful, if it's your image, let me know!

Portlandia - TV you need.

I started noticing a few weeks ago that a number of FB friends were liking "Portlandia". Luckily Season 1 is on Netflix streaming and I watched all the episodes immediately... and fell in love in about 5 minutes (oh! that opening song!).

Here are a few clips from the first season. Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are spectacular and I can't wait for Season 2!

This is beyond funny, because, since moving to Seattle, I've become a little picky about where the food comes from and if the restaurant is making an effort to buy and support local.

And who doesn't LOVE Aubrey Plaza!

Waiting for Superman - MustSeeMovie

http://www.waitingforsuperman.com/

Do we have failing schools because of poverty or do we have poverty because of our failing schools?

Waiting for "Superman" is a Documentary that challenges the public school system by showing how schools are failing our kids and how to make a difference.

Seriously, go see this movie now.

There are some really amazing teachers but there are a lot of really bad ones out there that are secure in their jobs (tenure and unions) and are wasting the children's time. The movie follows 4 students from k-9 in their quest (and sometimes failure) to get a better education.

I left the movie theatre just saying "wow" over and over again.
